National park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen

This is a nature reserve of more than 3500 hectares and has been a national park since 2002. On the one hand, the park is largely an alternation of dry sand drifts and coniferous forest, which is why the area is also called the "Brabant Sahara". But the extensive stream valley zone of the Zandleij is also part of it. A beautiful piece of Dutch nature. Worth a visit for sure!

De Efteling

De Efteling is an amusement/theme and rollercoaster park in Kaatsheuvel, a village 10 kilometers north of Tilburg and is the largest amusement/theme/rollercoaster park in the Benelux in terms of visitor numbers and surface area. It is one of the most visited theme parks in Europe and in 2017 was the most visited theme park in Europe after the French Disneyland Paris and the German Europa-Park.

Efteling has been awarded various prizes, including the Pomme d'Or for the "best leisure park in Europe" and the IAAPA Applause Award for the "best amusement park in the world"

Safari park Beekse Bergen

Safaripark Beekse Bergen is an animal park located between Tilburg and Hilvarenbeek, within cycling distance of Tilburg. In terms of surface area, it is the largest animal park in the Benelux. About 100 animal species are kept, varying from small mammals to large birds. Zebras, giraffes and ostriches

can be found on vast open plains. There are also lions, rhinos, elephants and cheetahs. You can visit the park on foot or by car or by bus. Visiting the wildlife in the Safari Park during the day and a Maiden uniteD rehearsal or show in the evening is another perfect day.

Reptile House De Oliemeulen

In 1987 "Reptile House De Oliemeulen" was founded. In the early 1990s, other publicly attractive animals were also housed, including parrots, birds of prey, raccoons and monkeys. More than 150 animal species are kept in the park. The farm has dozens of terrariums and semi-open enclosures with reptiles, amphibians, arthropods and a few small mammals. Snakes, lizards, poison dart frogs, spiders and tarantulas make up the bulk of the collection. There are various outdoor areas on the grounds behind the farm. It houses various primates, as well as striped skunks, pygmy mongoose, various felines, parrots, birds of prey, owls and other mammals and birds.

The animal park has both a recreational and an educational function. Besides shows with birds of prey and demonstrations with live snakes and tarantulas, there is an educational program. It also serves as a (temporary) shelter for exotic animals. De Oliemeulen is affiliated with Dier en Park, an organization for small-scale zoos.

De Pont

Those who love modern art are obliged to visit museum De Pont, the museum for contemporary art located in the heart of Tilburg. Since its opening in 1992, the collection has grown to more than 800 works by approximately 80 (inter) nationally renowned artists, including Marlene Dumas, Bill Viola and Anish Kapoor. The museum has set itself the goal of collecting in depth and not in breadth. Each year there are three major exhibitions that have a strong relationship with the collection. In addition, smaller solo exhibitions are organized in the podium that are not directly related to the collection.

The collection started with a dozen works by three artists, including Richard Long's signature stone circle and Marlene Dumas' The First People. The aim is to acquire at least one key work from each artist in the collection that can represent the essence of his artistry. A number of the artists were introduced to the Netherlands by De Pont or had his first major exhibitions, including Berlinde De Bruyckere, Thierry De Cordier, Anton Henning, Roni Horn, Anri Sala, Fiona Tan, Robert Therrien, Rosemarie Trockel, Luc Tuymans , Mark Wallinger, Ai Weiwei and Anish Kapoor.

Brabant Nature Museum

Natuurmuseum Brabant is the nature museum about nature and landscape of North Brabant. The museum consists of three floors with permanent and temporary exhibitions, such as the fifteen meter long skeleton of a sperm whale, as well as a mammoth and a saber-toothed tiger. Another permanent exhibition is 'Your Brabant, my Brabant, a landscape full of memories' on the first floor and provides an insight into the nature and landscape of Brabant. The OO - ZONE, the 'Discovery and Research Domain for Nature' is located on the ground floor. It is a mix of an open museum depot, interactive exhibition and workplaces. In the OO - ZONE, visitors become researchers: by following an educational computer program and scanning a research pass, they can take objects from drawers and examine them in a workplace.
